Eve-teasing
The word, 'Eve' has originated from the very beginning period of this world.
'Eve' indicates to Hawa (Am), wife of Adam (Am), first human of the world
according to Muslim beliefs. But at present, the whole women of the world are
called 'Eve' and teasing means annoyance or harassment. So, eve-teasing means
to harass young women extremely. Earlier, it would probably be not more than
whistle or a song sung by goons to attract the girls' attention, hence termed
as teasing. But nowadays the strange term 'eve-teasing' actually, amounts to
sexual harassment i.e. when a person is harassed because of his/her sex. One
statistics suggests, 32% of eve-teasers are students, 35% are antisocials
while 33% are middle-aged men. 'Eve-teasing' or stalking nowadays, is an
emerging social problem of the country. It is a bad sign of moral degradation
of our youth. When young women or girls go to their outdoor destination, on
the way, they become teased by local goons, the humming of suggestive song,
passing down right uncouth comments, cheap gestures, claps, lingering look,
sly whistle, giving unwelcome call or missed call are the main expression of
eve-teasing. Because of eve-teasing, many girls are stopped to come to schools
and colleges. Many of them have to get married early and some of them being
extremely irritated resort to killing themselves. So, it is high time to
control the eve-teaser's terrible race. And the govt. should initiate
preventive measures and ensure exemplary punishment for the scoundrels.

নারী উত্ত্যক্তকরণ
‘ইভ' শব্দটি এসেছে পৃথিবী সৃষ্টির সূচনালগ্ন থেকেই। মুসলিম বিশ্বাস মতে, 'ইভ'
দ্বারা দুনিয়ার প্রথম মানব আদম (আ)-এর স্ত্রী হাওয়া (আ)-কে নির্দেশ করা হয়েছে।
কিন্তু বর্তমানে পৃথিবীর সমগ্র স্ত্রীজাতিকে বলা হয় ‘ইভ' বা নারীজাতি। আর টিজিং
মানে হলো বিরক্ত বা হয়রানি। সুতরাং ‘ইভটিজিং' হলো চরম আকারে যুবতী মহিলাদের
বিরক্ত করা। আগেকার দিনে নারী উত্ত্যক্তকরণ বলতে বখাটেদের দ্বারা শিষ দেয়া অথবা
গান গেয়ে মেয়েদের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করা ছাড়া সম্ভবত আর কিছু ধরা হতো না। কিন্তু
সাম্প্রতিক দিনগুলোতে অদ্ভুত আকারে নারী উত্ত্যক্তকরণ বাস্তবিকভাবে যৌন হয়রানির
বিষয়কে বুঝায়। উদাহরণস্বরূপ বলা যায়- কোনো ব্যক্তির বা কোনো মেয়ের যৌন কারণে
হয়রানি হওয়া। এক সমীক্ষায় দেখা যায়, নারী উত্ত্যক্তকারীদের শতকরা ৩২% হলো
ছাত্র, ৩৫% হলো অসামাজিক লম্পট যেখানে ৩৩% হলো মধ্যবয়সী লোকজন । 'নারী
উত্ত্যক্তকরণ' আজকাল আমাদের দেশে একটা প্রধান সামাজিক সমস্যা। এটা আমাদের যুব
সমাজের নৈতিক অবক্ষয়ের একটা খারাপ দিক। যখন যুবতী মেয়েরা, মহিলারা তাদের বাড়ির
বাইরে গন্তব্যের উদ্দেশ্যে বের হয়, চলার পথে স্থানীয় বখাটেদের দ্বারা
উদ্দেশ্যমূলক গুণগুণ গান, পাশ কাটিয়ে চলার সময় কুরুচিপূর্ণ মন্তব্য, বিকৃত
অঙ্গভঙ্গি, হাততালি, স্থিরদৃষ্টিতে অনেকক্ষণ তাকানো, গোপনে শিষ, অনাকাঙ্ক্ষিত
মোবাইল কল অথবা মিসড কল ইত্যাদি ইভটিজিংয়ের প্রধান প্রকাশভঙ্গি। নারী
উত্ত্যক্তের কারণে অনেক মেয়েদের স্কুল, কলেজে যাওয়া বন্ধ করে দেয়া হয়। তাদের

Ans: Summarising:
Eve-teasing is to harass the young girls or women by goons on the
way. Its former term was only to tease them orally. But nowadays it has turned
to sexual harassment. It is an emerging social problem of our country and a bad
sign of moral degradation of our youth. The government should be taken
preventive measures and ensure exemplary punishment to the Eve-teasers.
