Life and livelihood are constantly changing in this changing world. The pace of change has also been much faster due to the advancement of technology. We have no choice but to adapt to this rapidly changing world. Because the development of technology is advancing at an unimaginable speed than at any time in history. The development of artificial intelligence in the fourth industrial revolution will bring about changes in the way we work and live. There will be many new job opportunities in the near future that we don't know about yet. We need to prepare now so that we can adapt ourselves to that future.
Despite economic growth around the world, problems such as climate change, air pollution, migration and ethnic violence are much more pronounced today. Pandemics such as Covid-19 are emerging which have brought normal life and economies to a standstill around the world. Different challenges and possibilities are added to our daily life.
We need to stand at the threshold of these challenges and opportunities to find sustainable and effective solutions and turn our demographic advantage into assets. And that requires visionary, sensitive, adaptable, humanitarian, global and patriotic citizens with knowledge, skills, values and positive outlook. In this context, Bangladesh continues its efforts to achieve the goal of transitioning from a less developed country to a developing country and becoming a developed country by 2041. Education is a powerful tool to achieve this goal. For this there is no way without modernization of education. And for this modernization there is a need to formulate an effective modern curriculum.
A regular, but very important, activity of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board is curriculum development and revision. The last syllabus was revised in 2012. A lot of time has already passed. There is a need to revise and develop the curriculum. For this purpose various research and technical exercises were conducted under NCTB during the year 2017 to 2019 to analyze the current situation of education and assess learning needs. Based on the results of these researches and technical exercises, a continuous competency-based curriculum from pre-primary to class 12th has been developed to create a competent generation to survive in the new world conditions.
In the light of this merit-based curriculum, textbooks have been prepared for the seventh grade students of all streams (general, madrasa and technical). In the light of practical experience, the content of the textbook is composed in such a way that it is much more easy to understand and enjoyable. Through this, a match of the textbook will be created with the various phenomena and events that are constantly happening around. Hopefully the learning through this will be profound and lifelong.
Books prepared by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) as per National Curriculum-2022 and prescribed for class VII in Bengali and English medium from 2024 academic year are Bengali, English, Mathematics, Science, History and Social Science, Digital Technology, Health Protection, Life and Livelihood. , Art and Culture, Islamic Education, Hinduism Education, Christianity Education, Buddhism Education PDF will be updated.
