A Journey by Bus I Made (আমার বাস ভ্রমণ)
During the last winter vacation I with some of my friends made a journey by bus from Dhaka to Chattogram. We went there to attend the marriage ceremony of my friend's sister. On the fixed day, we reached Saidabad Bus Stand and got into the bus. Fortunately I got my seat beside the window. After a few minutes, the bus began to move on. I kept looking outside through the window. When the bus left the Kanchpur Bridge, it was passing through the green field. Dew drops on green. grasses were glittering like pearls. Trees and houses seemed to run behind. I saw the farmers working in the field. Cattle were grazing here and there. The bus stopped at a few big stations. We bought chanachur, bananas, magazines etc. from the hawkers. When the bus left Feni, I saw the hills of Chattogram. On the right I saw the vast sheet of water of the Bay of Bengal. At last the bus reached Chattogram at 3:00 pm. My friend received us cordially. It was most pleasant journey in my life. I enjoyed it so much that the memory of the journey will remain ever fresh in my.heart.
অনুবাদ : গত শীতকালীন ছুটিতে আমি এবং আমার কিছু বন্ধু ঢাকা থেকে চট্টগ্রামে একটি বাস ভ্রমণ করেছিলাম। আমরা আমার বন্ধুর বোনের বিয়েতে যোগ দিতে সেখানে গিয়েছিলাম। নির্ধারিত দিনে আমরা সায়েদাবাদ বাস স্ট্যান্ডে পৌঁছলাম এবং বাসে উঠলাম, ভাগ্যক্রমে জানালার পাশে আমার আসন পেলাম। কয়েক মিনিট পর বাসটি চলতে শুরু করল। জানালা দিয়ে আমি বাইরে তাকালাম। যখন বাসটি কাঁচপুর ব্রিজ ছেড়ে গেল তখন এটি সবুজ মাঠের পাশ দিয়ে যাচ্ছিল। সবুজ ঘাসের উপর শিশির বিন্দুগুলো মুক্তোর ন্যায় চকচক করছিল। গাছপালা এবং বাড়িঘরগুলোকে মনে হলো যেন পেছনের দিকে দৌড়াচ্ছে। আমি কৃষকদের মাঠে কাজ করতে দেখলাম। গবাদি পশুগুলো এখানে সেখানে চরছিল। কিছু বড় স্টেশনে বাসটি থামল। আমরা হকার থেকে চানাচুর, কলা, ম্যাগাজিন ইত্যাদি ক্রয় করলাম। বাসটি ফেনী ছাড়ার পর আমি চট্টগ্রামের পাহাড়গুলো দেখতে পেলাম। ডানদিকে আমি বঙ্গোপসাগরের বিশাল জলরাশি দেখতে পেলাম। অবশেষে বিকেল ৩টায় বাসটি চট্টগ্রামে পৌঁছল। আমার বন্ধু আমাদের সাদরে অভ্যর্থনা জানাল। এটি ছিল আমার জীবনের সবচেয়ে আনন্দদায়ক ভ্রমণ। আমি এটি এতোই উপভোগ করেছিলাম যে, এর স্মৃতি আমার মনে চির-সজীব হয়ে থাকবে।
A Study Tour Attended (আমার অংশগ্রহণ করা একটি শিক্ষা সফর)
Study tour is very helpful to extend the wisdom of a student. It helps a student to see the unseen, to know the unknown and to explore the unexplored. In the last winter, we, the students of Sonapur Karamotia Alia Madrasah of Noakhali arranged a study tour. We decided to go to Sonargaon, a historical site of our country. We were two hundred students. Our English teacher Md Kamran accompanied with us. Four big luxurious buses were hired for that purpose. On the fixed day, we started our journey at 8:00 am from our madrasah compound. The sights on either side of the road were very charming. After a long journey, we reached our destination at about 11:30 am. In the spot, we visited the Folk Art Museum and Joynul Abedin Memorial Museum. Then we visited the prominent ancient city, Panamanagar. We also saw the 'Mazar' and 'Dighi' of Sona Bibi and the Mazar of Sultan Giasuddin Azam Shah. All these things gave us much pleasure. But among these the worth-seeing ancient Islamic architecture charmed me most. However, after staying there for about five hours, we returned our madrasah at 7:30 pm. In fact, the day was very enjoyable to us and we achieved. some new experience from this study tour.
অনুবাদ : শিক্ষা সফর একজন ছাত্রের জ্ঞান বিস্তৃত করতে অত্যন্ত সহায়ক। এটি একজন ছাত্রকে অদেখাকে দেখতে, অজানাকে জানতে এবং অনুদ্ঘাটিতকে উদ্ঘাটন করতে সহায়তা করে। গত শীতে আমরা নোয়াখালীর সোনাপুর কারামতিয়া আলিয়া মাদরাসার ছাত্ররা এক শিক্ষা সফরের আয়োজন করেছিলাম। আমরা আমাদের দেশের একটি ঐতিহাসিক স্থান সোনারগাঁ যাওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিলাম। আমরা ২০০ জন ছাত্র ছিলাম। আমাদের ইংরেজি শিক্ষক মোঃ কামরান আমাদের সাথে ছিলেন। ওই উদ্দেশ্যে চারটি বৃহৎ বিলাসবহুল বাস ভাড়া করা হয়েছিল। নির্দিষ্ট দিনে আমরা আমাদের মাদরাসা চত্বর থেকে সকাল ৮টায় রওয়ানা হয়েছিলাম। রাস্তার উভয় পার্শ্বের দৃশ্যাবলি ছিল অত্যন্ত মনোরম। দীর্ঘক্ষণ ভ্রমণের পর সকাল ১১:৩০ টার দিকে আমরা গন্তব্যে পৌঁছলাম। গন্তব্যস্থলে আমরা লোক-শিল্প যাদুঘর এবং জয়নুল আবেদীন স্মৃতি যাদুঘর পরিদর্শন করেছিলাম। তারপর আমরা বিখ্যাত প্রাচীন শহর পানামানগর' পরিদর্শন করেছিলাম। আমরা সোনা বিবির মাজার ও দীঘি এবং সুলতান . গিয়াসউদ্দীন আযম শাহের মাজারও দেখেছিলাম। এ সমস্ত জিনিস আমাদেরকে প্রচুর আনন্দ দিয়েছিল। এসবের মধ্যে দর্শনীয় প্রাচীন ইসলামী স্থাপত্য আমাকে সবচেয়ে বেশি মুগ্ধ করেছিল। যাহোক সেখানে প্রায় পাঁচ ঘণ্টা অবস্থান করার পর সন্ধ্যা ৭:৩০ মিনিটে আমাদের মাদরাসায় ফিরে এলাম। প্রকৃতপক্ষে, দিনটি ছিল আমাদের নিকট খুবই উপভোগ্য এবং আমরা এই শিক্ষা সফর থেকে কিছু নতুন অভিজ্ঞতা অর্জন করেছিলাম।
A Visit to a Place of Historical Interest (একটি ঐতিহাসিক স্থান ভ্রমণ)
We have fascination for a historical place. It has educative and cultural values. During the last autumn vacation, I got a chance to visit Bagerahat, a great historical place. The Mazar of Khan Jahan Ali is a fine one storeyed building. It has a beautiful dome. Hazrat Khan Jahan Ali was buried there. The tomb is made of cut out stones. There is a small mosque nearby. A close associate of Khan Jahan Ali was buried outside the tomb. On the night of the full moon of the month of Chaitra a big fair is held beside the Mazar. Many people attend the fair. There are some crocodiles in this big tank. I also visited the Shat Gambuj Mosque. It is a big and beautiful building. The mosque is beautifully decorated. The mosque has great attraction for the tourists and visitors. There is a big dighi near the Shat Gambuj Mosque. This dighi is called the Ghora Dighi. I visited this dighi and came to know many things about the social work of Khan Jahan Ali. Bagerhat is really a place of historical interest. I spent eight hours there and saw many historical things and enjoyed myself. I left Bagerhat but the memory still haunts my mind.
অনুবাদ : ঐতিহাসিক স্থানের প্রতি আমাদের বিশেষ আকর্ষণ আছে। এর রয়েছে শিক্ষামূলক ও সাংস্কৃতিক ভূমিকা। গত শরৎকালীন ছুটিতে আমি একটি প্রসিদ্ধ ঐতিহাসিক স্থান বাগেরহাট পরিদর্শনের সুযোগ পেয়েছিলাম। খান জাহান আলীর মাজার একটি চমৎকার একতলা ভবন। এর একটি সুন্দর গম্বুজ রয়েছে। হযরত খান জাহান আলীকে সেখানে সমাধিস্থ করা হয়েছিল। সমাধি সৌধটি কাটা পাথরে নির্মিত। সেখানে খুব কাছেই একটি মসজিদ রয়েছে । খান জাহান আলীর ঘনিষ্ঠ সহযোগীদেরকে মাজারের বাহিরে সমাধিস্থ করা হয়েছিল। চৈত্রমাসের পূর্ণিমা রাত্রে মাজারের পাশে একটি বড় মেলা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। অনেক লোক মেলায় যোগ দেয়। মাজারের সম্মুখে একটি বড় দীঘি রয়েছে। স্থানীয় লোকেরা এটিকে খান জাহান আলীর দীঘি বলে। বড় দীঘিটিতে কিছু কচ্ছপ রয়েছে। আমি ষাটগম্বুজ মসজিদও পরিদর্শন করেছিলাম। এটি একটি চমৎকার ও বড় মসজিদ। মসজিদটি সুন্দরভাবে সজ্জিত। পর্যটক ও দর্শনার্থীদের নিকট মসজিদটির বিরাট আকর্ষণ রয়েছে। ষাটগম্বুজ মসজিদটির নিকট একটি বড় দীঘি রয়েছে। এই দীঘিটিকে ঘোড়া দীঘি বলা হয়। আমি দীঘিটি পরিদর্শন করলাম এবং খান জাহান আলীর সমাজসেবামূলক কার্যক্রম সম্পর্কে অনেক কিছু জানলাম। বাগেরহাট সত্যিকার অর্থেই একটি ঐতিহাসিক স্থান। আমি সেখানে আট ঘণ্টা কাটিয়েছিলাম এবং অনেক ঐতিহাসিক জিনিস দেখেছিলাম এবং নিজেকে উপভোগ করেছিলাম। আমি বাগেরহাট ত্যাগ করলাম কিন্তু সে স্মৃতি আজও আমার মনকে সর্বদা তাড়িয়ে বেড়ায়।
My Visit to a Village Fair (আমার পরিদর্শন করা একটি গ্রাম্যমেলা)
A village fair is an annual affair in Bangladesh. It is a part and parcel of our Bangalee culture. It is a large gathering place for all ages and callings. A few months ago, I visited a fair at my village Sonapur in Noakhali. The fair was held on the occasion of the first Baishakh. It was held on the bank of a canal. During the fair | was in my village as my madrasah was closed due to summer vacation. The fair ground was not so far from our home. So I went there on foot. Some of my friends accompanied me. We reached there at about 4.00 pm. In the fair, the people of different professions brought their our handmade articles for sale. The shopkeepers sitting in rows displayed their articles an attractive atmosphere. Clothes, toys, cheap ornaments, cosmetics, fancy goods, utensils, bamboo-made articles, sweetmeats and many other attractive things were placed there. Jatra, circus, doll dance, magic show etc. were the chief attractions of the fair. But the dolldance and the potteries attracted me most. I roamed about the whole fair with my friends for about three hours. I bought some handmade articles and potteries. In the evening, we started for home with a pleasant mind. In fact, the day was very enjoyable and interesting to me.
অনুবাদ : গ্রাম্যমেলা বাংলাদেশে একটি বার্ষিকী ঘটনা। এটি আমাদের বাঙালি সংস্কৃতির একটি অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ। এটি সকল বয়সের এবং পেশার লোকজনের একটি বিশাল মিলনমেলা। কয়েক মাস পূর্বে আমি আমার গ্রাম নোয়াখালীর সোনাপুরে একটি মেলা পরিদর্শন করেছিলাম। মেলাটি পহেলা বৈশাখ উপলক্ষে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল। এটি একটি খালের পাড়ে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল। যেহেতু গ্রীষ্মকালীন ছুটির জন্যে আমার মাদরাসা বন্ধ ছিল তাই মেলার সময় আমি আমার গ্রামে ছিলাম। মেলা প্রাঙ্গণ আমাদের বাড়ি থেকে খুব দূরে ছিল না। তাই পায়ে হেঁটে আমি সেখানে গিয়েছিলাম। আমার কিছু বন্ধুও সঙ্গে ছিল। আমরা বিকেল প্রায় চারটায় সেখানে পৌঁছলাম। মেলায় বিভিন্ন ধরনের পেশার লোকজন তাদের হাতে তৈরি জিনিসপত্র বিক্রির জন্য এনেছিল। দোকানদাররা আকর্ষণীয়ভাবে সেগুলো প্রদর্শনের জন্য সারি করে বসেছিল। কাপড়-চোপড়, খেলনা, সস্তা গহনা, কসমেটিকস, সৌখিন সামগ্রী, বাসনপত্র, বাঁশের তৈরি সরঞ্জাম, মিষ্টান্ন এবং অন্যান্য অনেক আকর্ষণীয় জিনিস সেখানে স্থাপন করা হয়েছিল। যাত্রা, সার্কাস, পুতুল নাচ, ম্যাজিকশো প্রভৃতি ছিল মেলার প্রধান আকর্ষণ। কিন্তু পুতুল নাচ এবং মাটির তৈরি পাত্র আমাকে বেশি আকৃষ্ট করেছিল। প্রায় তিন ঘণ্টা ধরে আমি আমার বন্ধুদের নিয়ে সমগ্র মেলাটি ঘুরে বেড়ালাম। আমি কিছু হাতে তৈরি জিনিসপত্র এবং মাটির তৈরি পাত্র কিনেছিলাম । সন্ধ্যায় আমরা আনন্দচিত্তে বাড়ির উদ্দেশ্যে যাত্রা করলাম। প্রকৃতপক্ষে দিনটি ছিল আমার নিকট খুবই উপভোগ্য ও চমৎকার।
A Walk in the Sea beach (সমুদ্র সৈকতে হাঁটা)
A walk in the sea-beach is a unique experience. It is so refreshing to have a walk along the long stretched beach. You can hear the roaring sea calling you near, and the strong, murmuring wind coming from the sea will soothe your heart and body. It is more pleasing to see the clattering sea gulls flying overhead. Taking a walk in the sea-beach is more exciting when the sun is setting. The sea-beach in Cox's Bazar is famous for its sun setting views. As you walk in the sea-beach your heart will be enthralled by the sight of miles of golden sands, towering cliffs, surfing waves, rare conch shells and so on. The Creator casts a magic spell on the weary wanderers who go there to have a refreshing experience amid everyday hue and cry. One can get back home with a serene and tranquil heart after having a long rejuvenating walk in the sea beach.
অনুবাদ : সমুদ্র সৈকতে হাঁটাহাঁটি এক অনন্য অভিজ্ঞতা। সুদীর্ঘ বিস্তীর্ণ সৈকতে বেড়ানো যথেষ্ট প্রাণবস্তুকর। গর্জনশীল সমুদ্রের সান্নিধ্যে আসার আহ্বান তুমি শুনতে পাবে এবং সমুদ্র থেকে আসা বাতাসের মর্মর ধ্বনি তোমার দেহমন জুড়িয়ে দেবে। গাংচিলেরা শোরগোল করে মাথার উপরে উড়ছে, এ দৃশ্য দেখা আরও বেশি উপভোগ্য। সূর্যাস্তের সময় সমুদ্র সৈকতে ভ্রমণ আরও বেশি উত্তেজনাকর। কক্সবাজারের সমুদ্র সৈকত সূর্যাস্তের দৃশ্য উপভোগের জন্য বিখ্যাত। সমুদ্র সৈকতে ভ্রমণ করলে মাইলের পর মাইলব্যাপী সোনালি বালুর দৃশ্য, সুউচ্চ চূড়ার পাহাড়, ভেঙে পড়া ঢেউ, দুর্লভ শঙ্খ ও ঝিনুক ইত্যাদির দৃশ্যে তোমার মন বাঁধা পড়বে। দৈনন্দিন জীবনের হৈ চৈ-এর মধ্য থেকে চনমনে অভিজ্ঞতা অর্জনের জন্য আগত পরিশ্রান্ত পর্যটকদের জন্য সৃষ্টিকর্তা সেখানে যাদুকরী প্রভাব ফেলেছেন। একজন মানুষ সমুদ্র সৈকতে সুদীর্ঘ ভ্রমণ শেষে নতুন শক্তি সঞ্চারী শাস্ত সমাহিত মনে ঘরে ফিরে আসতে পারে।
